Engineers Week 2011

Events 2010-2011

On Tuesday the 15th of February the 2nd year metalwork class went to Ballina library for a talk about the foot bridge recently erected in Ballina as part of Engineers Week 2011.
The group was told about the great lengths went to get the best design for the bridge. They were shown a slideshow of the bridge under construction and all the achievements the builders done. All the aspects of the bridge was looked at. The safety features were all addressed. The problems with building on the ridgepool was addressed and the problems with building over the traps was also addressed.

The 2nd years then had a task to build a model bridge to support a model toy car crossing. The winners got a t-shirt, pen and a book mark.

The group then proceeded to the foot bridge to have a look at the great engineering that went into the bridge.
